ANALYSIS OF FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM IN THE LINE I OF PRODUCTION UNIT PT WIJAYA KARYA BETON TBK PASURUAN

Abstract
PT Wijaya Karya Beton is a manufacturing company that produce precast concrete., There are high risk of potential fire hazards due to the most of the production require heating process such as welding, cutting, and operating heating tools. This study aims to analyse the implementation of fire protection systems in the line I of production unit PT Wijaya Karya Beton. The type of research used in this study is quantitative with an observational approach. This research was conducted during November 2023 to February 2024. The objects evaluated in this study are emergency exit, Evacuation routes routes, fire extinguishers, hydrants, fire alarms, fire detectors, and sprinklers. The results of this study shows that the suitability level of fire extinguishers is 100%, fire alarms 88.8%, hydrants 100%, while fire detectors and sprinklers obtained 0% of suitability level because there was no installation of these components. The score of fire protection suitability is 83.3% and Evacuation routes is 100%. This study concluded that the fire protection system implemented in the line 1 of production unit PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk Pasuruan are lack on the application of detectors and sprinklers. The recommendation according to the result in this study is the installation of detector components according to the fire protection regulation standards.
