DESCRIPTION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF LOCK OUT AND TAG OUT AT PLTU TANJUNG AWAR-AWAR TUBAN AS AN EFFORT TO PREVENT WORK ACCIDENTS

Abstract
The energy isolation procedure, better known as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), aims to reduce potential hazards caused by the uncontrolled release of energy from energized machines during repair or maintenance. This study aims to describe the LOTO implementation system as an effort to prevent work accidents at PLTU Tanjung Awar-awar Tuban based on OSHA standards. This type of research is descriptive research with qualitative methods that involves collecting data through interviews with five informants and field observations. The results of this study illustrate that all LOTO procedures are aimed at reducing potential hazards due to the release of energy during the repair or maintenance process. The energy that requires LOTO is electrical, mechanical, thermal, and chemical energy. LOTO equipment is almost complete but the labeling or tagging does not meet OSHA standards, namely that is not yet made of materials that are resistant to work environment conditions, all LOTO procedures have been implemented in accordance with OSHA standards so that there are no work accidents due to uncontrolled energy release at PLTU Tanjung Awar-awar Tuban. Suggestions from this study include replacinge labels with materials that are more durable and in accordance with conditions in the workplace.
